In late March we held our Migrants’ Rights – More than just talk! event in Glasgow which brought together migrants, their community groups and supporting organisations in Scotland to share views and inspiration and learn more about what we mean by migrants rights and how a rights-based approach offers powerful tools that we can use to bring about positive change in our lives.

Following up on the discussions around various issues and challenges migrants face here and on sharing in the development of a rights-based network on migration in Scotland, we would like to invite you to a first

Working/Action Group Meeting (Central Belt)

to take things forward and jointly establish a course of action.

Date: Wednesday, 8th June 2011

Time: 2.00-4.30pm

Venue: Meeting Room 6, STUC, 333 Woodlands Road, Glasgow

The meeting will also provide an opportunity to discuss the implications of the changed situation in Holyrood with a majority of seats now held by the SNP and plan possible actions to impact on the new Scottish Parliament and bring issues around migrants’ rights on the political agenda.

Please indicate whether you will be able to make it to the meeting and feel free to spread the word to further individuals and civil society groups who may be interested to join in.

For more information and inquiries please contact our Co-ordinator Hyo Eun Shin at csp[at]migrantsrightsscotland.org.uk.
