International Migrants Day calls for a celebration. It invites to rethink what we believe we know, what we believe about migrants. About what we understand of migration as a global phenomenon.
Mark the date now:
Migrants’ Rights Scotland and Migrant Voice, with the support of Christina McKelvie MSP, will be hosting an evening to recognise OUR DAY, International Migrants Day on 17 December at the Scottish Parliament. From 18:00-19:30, migrants will join a range of cross-sector representatives and Holyrood Parliamentarians to share their experience and understanding of migration and immigration issues of the day.
A reception will follow during which migrants’ many contributions to Scotland will be honoured and Migrant Voice’s Engaging Pictures exhibition of photographic portraits will be on display.
Tickets will be available shortly through the Eventbrite booking system. Watch for our email circular and further news on this website.
Meanwhile, take a look at poet Musa Okwonga’s reading of the Migrant Manifesto.
