The Festival of Politics offers a range of talks, debates and exhibitions from some of the most influential players in British politics. This exceptional festival combines the worlds of politics, media and the arts and provides an opportunity to gain some further insight into the exciting world of politics. This year’s festival includes a programme of politics, music, art, theatre, literature and debate under the theme of ‘Politics. Culture. Creativity. A Force for Positive Change’.

Starting out in 2005, the award-winning four-day Festival of Politics is now a main part of the festival summer season. Taking place in the impressive Scottish Parliament building, you are invited to take a look behind the scenes at the Open Parliament Day, attend one of the many talks, exhibitions and plays or get involved in the discussions and debates.

The Festival of Politics attracts participants from a wide array of backgrounds, from political party leaders to cabinet ministers and journalists who discuss their experiences. This year, headline participants include the Rt Hon Gordon Brown MP, the Rt Hon Dr Jack McConnell, Alexander McCall Smith, Louise Welsh and Iain Banks. For those of a political mind, or for those simply looking to be entertained, this exciting and unique festival will no doubt have something for everyone.
