Scottish Refugee Council: Roundtable with REDRESS, 20 March 2012, Glasgow

Scottish Refugee Council is hosting a roundtable meeting ‎for asylum and refugee groups, as well as lawyers and other organisations who work on behalf of ‎torture survivors, to meet and listen to visitors from REDRESS.
REDRESS is an international human rights NGO formed in 1992 and based in London, with a ‎mandate to assist victims of torture. As part of its casework programme, it provides legal advice ‎for torture survivors in gaining access to both national and international courts and reparation for ‎their suffering.

Date: 20 March 2012
Time: 2-5pm
Venue: Scottish Refugee Council, 5 Cadogan Square, Glasgow

The purpose of the meeting is:

  • for REDRESS to explain in some detail the work it ‎undertakes, particularly its casework programme, and to provide examples of cases it has ‎handled.
  • to discuss with the organisations present potential ways of ‎collaboration in the interests of torture survivors.‎
